Chapter Updates for January 2012 (Partial List)

Sacaramento:[Arya]
From our efforts, events and helping out at Occupy, new people from OccupySacramento attended our first chapter meeting of 2012. We also want to pick up with our Street Talk video series on college campuses in the area.
Los Angeles: [Brandon]
We held a public screening of Moving Forward in January that was well attended.
We've done a lot of college & university outreach. Often we search the internet for event days and contact students and faculty. Also, we're using http://eventful.com/ to search and find large events in our area and then contact interesting events to see if we can do tabling there or speak at the event. Large Zday event being planned at USC for March.
San Diego: [Don]
1st meeting of 2012 coming up to start our Zday planning. Especially finding a venue. We hope to create a psuedo-expo style event like we did last year.
We're also planning more regular Townhalls for 2012 since we have a community center venue that available to us on a monthly baisis.
Palm Springs: [Holland]
We've made some connections with the Occupy movement here and we've been attending their events to raise questions and propose ideas. Lots of success with handing out DVD of the ZM movies at those events.
The Nov 6th, 2011 ZMCA meeting helped us a lot with understanding "Planned Obsolescence" and "Technological Unemployment". It's a great way to interject into political debates without alarming anyone, and helping people think about the system versus an ideology.
Also looking to have a film screening at the Annenberg Theatre in the Palm Springs area.
Ventura: [John]
First meeting of 2012 coming us this week. Some members attended a screening of another film and engaged people in TZM ideas. Venutra will host a larger ZM camp at burningman this year. Will need 1000s of DVD to hand out this year too.
Orange County: [Ryan]
Ryan & Louis attended the OC Green Market to table. I'm also working on short videos on the OC youtube channel. TZM Host Jim Phillips contacted me. Participation has been slow in general so I'm doing more personal projects in the meantime. Also looking at a potential Zday venue space..
Humbolt County: [Reba]
We had 13 people show up to our first chapter meeting. Some showed up because of the radio interview I did on KMUD radio. People's understandings of TZM was varied. I provided handouts with all the Zlinks to information. Also feedback cards for people to fill out with their interests, events they want to participate in, etc. We want to have a screening of Addendum for Zday this year. And we will have a booth at the Humblot Green Festival in April.
